Mosaic ATM is supporting the FAA in the design, development, and deployment of the Surface Decision Support System (SDSS) in Memphis, Tennessee, Orlando, Florida, and Louisville, Kentucky. The objectives of the Louisville SDSS project are to identify, prototype, and validate advanced Surface Traffic Management capabilities to support future FAA investment and acquisition. The capabilities of SDSS include the ability to display flight information and surface and terminal area aircraft positions to Air Traffic Controllers and Traffic Managers, Flight Operators, Airport Authorities, and other specialists at the operational facilities of aviation organizations involved in the airport surface operation.
Through the conduct of this project, Mosaic ATM has implemented, tested, and deployed SDSS enhancements for full operational use of SDSS in the Air Traffic Control Tower, TRACON, and Traffic Management Units of the prototype deployment sites. Additional capabilities are being implemented through a collaborative, user-focused design effort to evaluate and validate functional improvements.
